How to add the Benchmark robot skill

  1. Load the most recent release of ARC (Get ARC).
  2. Press the Project tab from the top menu bar in ARC.
  3. Press Add Robot Skill from the button ribbon bar in ARC.
  4. Choose the General category tab.
  5. Press the Benchmark icon to add the robot skill to your project.

How to use the Benchmark robot skill

For debugging your EZ-B. This will demonstrate the speed of commands and the reliability of the connection. Use this for two reasons:

1) To verify the speed of your EZ-B connection and computer.

2) To verify the reliability (or diagnose issues) of the connection or EZ-B.

Data Channel Flood Protection

If you load the settings screen of the connection control, there is an option for the EZ-B v4.x/0, and EZ-B v4.x/1 called Data Channel Flood Control. The flood control will add a slight delay between reading commands to prevent the TCP data channel to the ez-b from being saturated with commands. This feature only works with the first generation EZ-B and is ignored on later versions. If you have a first-generation EZ-B v4, the benchmark will return READ ADC commands between 4/sec and 70/sec. Seventy read commands per second is near the highest expected on the first generation EZ-B v4. To tweak the data throttle values for optimal performance, increment the Data Channel Flood Protection value by one and try the Read ADC again. Repeat this process until you receive the highest number per second. Remember, this value is on a per-project basis.
