Comm Expansion Configuration

How to add the Comm Expansion Configuration robot skill

  1. Load the most recent release of ARC (Get ARC).
  2. Press the Project tab from the top menu bar in ARC.
  3. Press Add Robot Skill from the button ribbon bar in ARC.
  4. Choose the Communication category tab.
  5. Press the Comm Expansion Configuration icon to add the robot skill to your project.

How to use the Comm Expansion Configuration robot skill

The Comm Expansion Configuration is an add-on to the EZ-B v4.x/2, which can be configured for two modes. This control is a utility which is used to configure the Comm Expansion module.

UART Mode

Enables the Comm Expansion UART mode, which allows a transparent proxy of UART data between the PC and Comm Expansion module's UART.

USB Mode

Connect a USB cable from the Comm Expansion adapter to the PC for direct USB communication rather than WiFi. This benefits robots with onboard computers to not be limited to using WiFi communication. The EZ-B is not provided power from USB and will require separate management.
