Charging Cable Too Short

Why is the charging cable only sticking through the body about 1/4"? This makes it VERY hard to connect the charger. I have to remove the left arm and use needle nose pliers to hold the connector Is there an extension cable?

Speech Recognition Language

EZB prompts me to select a language in speech recognition configuration window , But there is nothing there to choose from. It's blank. I have a mic connected , working well for EZB recording. I use win 7. What should I do to activate this function ?
