It was just a drop in the bucket but I wanted to help some if I could.

We rescue strays and waifs around my house too, but usually it's people and not animals

We do have a cat (Kevin) around here so I have a soft spot for cats.

Anyone else who wants to post animal rescue or other stories of their own feel free to post in this thread....

My wife and I have rescued 4 cats and 2 dogs. We both have a soft spot for animals that need help. Our one cat just had 7 teeth pulled so I know too about vet bills! It's a good thing you and your girlfriend is doing I wish you and Patches all the best.

Ok, so Patches was at the vets yesterday again.... The vet couldn't believe how well he is doing so now surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday. Both surgeries will be done at once, which is awesome news. He had gained a pound in a week, which is not surprising since he's a little piglet... His mouth is a bit of a mess so I am not sure how he can eat like that... Hunger is stronger than pain I guess... Bottom line he is doing much better and can handle a single longer surgery now...

I'll have another update after his surgery...

That's really great to hear. I had a cat a few years back who, most of the time, wouldn't chew his food and just woof it down. The dog would give him funny looks thinking "eat the plate why don't you" lol.
