Ez-robot Holiday Card

Question

Just received this in my mail, and it's a really nice gesture (the first holiday card i've gotten from a company that isn't my dads work). Thanks, EZ-robot!

vhs896 · Answer

Yes. Thanks ez-robot like the key chain too. My 1st time holding a 3d printed thing. Thanks.

rgordon · Answer

Have not gotten my key chain yet stress

Sudo the Banned · Answer

What keychain? does this mean I get more cool stuff? EZ-robot keeps getting better and better!

Antron007 · Answer

The keychain is going to the same people who got pre order credit. Is the keychain 3d printed? I too, have never touched a 3d printed item. Also still waiting.

Sudo the Banned · Answer

How long was the pre-order window? I ordered my ez-robot v4/JD head on the 14th of november, if I remember correctly.

Antron007 · Answer

I got mine today Mine was ordered on November 9th. I THINK the cut off date was the date they sent the mass email out. I could be mistaken on that and I don't remember the date off hand.

Rich · Answer

Got mine today all the way over here in the good ol' UK

Jason · Answer

Hey everyone! To confirm, we sent out these letters to every pre-order customer who made a purchase before Dec 3rd, 2013. If you made a pre-order but your envelope has not arrived yet, please give it a few days as snail mail can be...well....slow haha. From the EZ-Robot Team to you, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! We can't wait to start 2014 with a robot "Revolution"!

Ings175 · Answer

I got hosed on my keychain lol. 1/4 of the envelope was missing. I got the holiday card though. Not a big deal. The credit was more than enough.

jdebay · Answer

I am in the same boat as @Ings175. Back of the envelope has hole. Happy Holiday Season everyone! j I think the usps sorter got them, see above photo for hole on the back of the envelope. j

rgordon · Answer

Was the key chain supposed to be in the envelope with the Christmas card? The wife said my envelope had a hole torn in it just like @Ings175 and @jdebay mad What is going on here? Postman got a thing for key chains?

jstarne1 · Answer

Such a weird thing lol.

Sudo the Banned · Answer

Happened to me too! Jason sorted this out for me though, the key-chain is coming with my EZ-B Did the hole look really carefully cut to anyone else? mine has a clean square cut out of the left hand bottom corner. (Maybe it's the US post office?)

Robot Doc · Answer

Got my card and the 3D printed logo, no chain.

CardboardHacker · Answer

I was left unscard. Sounds like a border official likes ez-robot key chains.

vhs896 · Answer

LoL and when I say key chain. There was no chain just the card and thing thats in the pic I uploaded. Anyways. Thanks ezrobot

Ings175 · Answer

I figured I was probably the only one lol. Regardless I think it was the thought that counted.

Sudo the Banned · Answer

Same here. I'm actually more interested in why they removed the keychains more than getting one.

Robot Doc · Answer

I don't think that the key chain fob was removed by humans. I suspect the robotic mail handler is just not friendly to some letters with small bulges. I've has this happen when I shipped out IR components using regular envelopes without protecting them with additional packing.

Antron007 · Answer

The edges corners of the fobs are pretty crisp so I could see them poking themselves through with a little squeezing. I'm not a gambling man but, I'd wager that at least one of these fobs will be found in the bottom of a postman's mailbag at some point. The fob is neat. I've never held a 3d printed item before so I was impressed. Lightweight and seems fairly strong. I think it's been mentioned before but does anyone remember what material they are? ABS, PLA? Which one is the cornstarch one?

Sudo the Banned · Answer

PLA is what EZ-robot uses (according to memory, don't hold me to this), so probably PLA.

Nomad 6R · Answer

does this count for belgium too.haha

Sudo the Banned · Answer

If you pre-ordered, you'll be sent a card/keychain no matter what. It seems to be people from the US that are recieving ripped open envelopes. (like me)

Nomad 6R · Answer

it happens here too.i got 2x v2 and a v1 ripped by arival.and no one knows anything. mad

Putt Putt · Answer

Sounds like Home Land Security is afraid of Robot Chains!

Troy · Answer

Once I've had an envelope returned to me because (as said above) the machine sorter cant handle small envelopes with bulges. I just had to change the packing to a padded envelope so it gets sorted differently. I suppose they decided to remove the item and forward on in your cases.

jstarne1 · Answer

It's the thought that counts , I hope they post the stl in the library so i can print one.

Troy · Answer

Yes indeed! Thank you EZ-Robot team. Have a wonderful holiday season!

irobot58 · Answer

What an awesome thankyou/momento! And a great "collectors" item .....The 3D elf was verrrry busy i am sure

Troy · Answer

My postcard arrived today. Thank you EZ-Robot team! Since my mail gets here via the US post office sorting system, my envelope too has a hole in it and keychain removed. I believe this is probably due to an automated system or person so that envelopes can go through. Thumbs down on USPS for destroying the item instead of returning to sender before acceptance. I truly appreciate the gesture! Thank you so much and have a wonderful happy new year!

Dave Schulpius · Answer

Thanks for the Xmas card EZ Robots. Sadly my key chain was also missing through a hole in the envelope. Probably would not have used it anyway but it was a nice thought. Much appreciated!

stonewolf · Answer

Hey everyone :-} Well I received my envelope with the card/picture and the ezrobot keychain all intake about 2 weeks ago and mine goes through the US post office sorting thingy. Thank you very much for the picture and the keychain, mine is displayed on my workbench :-} I really am getting anxious for the v4 kit.
