These guys are constructed within compliance of trossen robotics mech wars competition in beginner and open class. Not only can they compete there but many airsoft clubs count this as an armed ROV which is a remote controlled tank or robot. Plus we can just play outdoors in the yard agianst other robots. Im doing a robot for my brother with the same gun arms which can compete too. That build is a seperate thread.

I can tell you are really hooked;)

I never heard of such competitions with toy robots equipped with nerf guns. This sounds like a lot of fun!

I found yor gun idea so neat and it looked so good in your robot, that I am thinking of ways to do the same thing in my RAD (while still having both 6DF arms installed).

Hopefully I am gonna start working on my first robot this weekend - I'm converting my Wall-E U-Command to work under EZ-B control, just to get my feet wet. I am just gonna install the standard kit, nothing else (perhaps I'll also put a simple battery monitor, the way I explained in @Gunner's thread, to test the ADC).

I'm also gonna see if I can manage to have the EZ-B trigger the original electronics board to make him say the stock phrases under PC control (I might need to get that oscilloscope). If not, then I'll buy the MP3 Trigger board sometime later.

Funny you mentioned ed 209 , thats what inspired all this to begin with. Im looking at building a version of him after I get the other robots going.
