Both are enabled: first connected ethernet, then connected wifi.

I gave you results with ethernet adapter disabled. Now will try and connect with wifi adapter to ezb.

You can't do the configuration if your ethernet is connected because dns will send your 192.168.1.1 request to your router. You will either need to change the ip range of your home network or preferably use one of your other devices to get your v4 into client mode on your network. Once this is done, you will be able to connect very quickly with your computer. This will allow you to connect with either the wired or wireless connection. You will get a different ip address for the v4 but it should work far more quickly.

Only one device on that is viewable by your computer can have the ip address of 192.168.1.1. Because this is your network routers/switches ip, you can't be connected to your network when connecting via wifi to your v4 unless you put the v4 on your network via client mode, or change the ip address of your router/switch to something other than 192.168.1.1.

The reason it connects slowly and then disconnects is because there is a confusion, with your router/switch winning out. Your other devices don't have this issue because they are not on your network to see your switch/router so there is no conflict. By putting the v4 in client mode, all of the devices will be able to connect to the v4.

In the past I was unable to have both enable and work to same network with out slowness. Now that seems to have passed.

@d.cochran yes. I read your response. I used a laptop to do that. But this is an HP issue that DJ Sures is trying figure out and I would also like to figure out too.

Why with Ethernet disabled, FW off, ipconfig /flushDNS done still not able to connect to EZ-B v4?

Also it never ask's for security to EZ-B.

Any thoughts?

p.s. this is for people that do not have another device to set it to client mode. if you read all that I posted in this topic. All my other devices work fine with ez-b. And I followed all your help with others on get to client mode. When it happen the very first time. I just used my laptop and all was fine. Then as other's have had the problem I read and followed what everyone suggested. I ran HP Assist first to see if I had the latest drivers from HP, and I did. I asked to update drivers by Microsoft and they say I have the latest drivers. When I got this pc, I could not have both adapters enable and now I can but there has been many updates to drivers and OS, since I got the PC.

My last thought was... To disable WIFI and I have another WIFI adapter I can attach to the HP and see what happens.

Tried a usb netgear adapter and disabled both other nic's it WORKS fine. So again this points to HP wifi problem.

Will try changing the router in a while but I need to make sure I let my users know! Or I hear DAD the network is not working.

I'm not saying that the hp NIC doesn't have an issue. I am saying that if the ethernet port is active and you are connected to your network, you will have an issue with any wifi NIC because your computer will not know which 192.168.1.1 address you are trying to access. You could do some routing tables in your router to handle some things like send port 23, 24 and 80 for 192.168.1.1 through your working wifi but send all other traffic that doesn't have a final destination of one of these three ports through the wired NIC, but that would require some work on your end to get that setup within your router and computer.

The best solution is to connect as you have done, and switch your v4 to be in client mode which solves your issue all the way around. It also let's your wired computer be able to run ARC and connect without enabling the wifi adapter, because you will be using your network to connect from your computer to the v4.

Another side benefit is that everyone I have seen do this has robots that connect to their network much faster than if they used AP mode.

This is an issue that many people will face with the V4 because many people's network are configured to 192.168.1.xxx with 192.168.1.1 being the router. Many people also have their device hooked up via a wired connection and then try to make a connection to the v4 using a wifi NIC. I just wanted to make sure you know that this would cause issues.

Thanks for providing assistance that might help others. There are so many wifi devices connected to my home network that I am about to go to a class C structure to help segment out what is what. Yes, I have over 200 devices connected to my network at any given time. In no time that will go over that anyway. Crazy, for sure.
