Question With Wifi

Hi,

I just received my JD but can not connect it to the WIFI with my HP computer. To see if it was an issue with the EZ-B I tried to connect it to my Mac Air and it connected. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

Richard it is a long answer.

I would tell them and they can write up an how to do it. I am not the best at writing... lol

This is only a work around solution for hp/compaq owners who have two nic's, one a wired connection and second one is a wifi nic, connection. DNS is getting confused when trying to find the EZ-B. And it times out. Says unable to connect.

It requires that they disable the wired connection and the wifi connection. Maybe you could write it up?

Also requires that they have or purchase a usb wifi for their hp/compaq personal computer OR use another pc or laptop to set the EZ-B in client mode.

I have test this on my HP system and it worked. But I need another person who has an HP/Compaq to try the work around.

Thanks again Michael,

What are the values for 802.11b Preamble (long and short?) and AdHoc Mode (disabled?)

Have you tried to Update your Driver for your WiFi Adapter? (right click on Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n Wifi Adapter in the device manager and select update driver)

What version of windows do you have? Is it 32 or 64 bit?

In the Device manager are there any yellow exclamation marks on your WAN Mini-port network adapters?

For the last check you may have to select the View tab in the Device Manager and click on "Show Hidden Devices"

Michael, for screenshots in Windows 8, follow these directions

  1. Press the Windows Key + PRNTSCREEN buttons together. On a laptop, PRINTSCREEN can be labelled PRTSC and is normally located on the top right near the delete key

  2. The screen will flash when you press that key combination

  3. In this forum, press the ATTACH FILE -> BROWSE button. Navigate to your My Pictures folder and look in the SCREENSHOTS folder

  4. Select the screenshot that was saved

  5. Press the UPLOAD FILE button on this forum

  6. Type your message

  7. Press the REPLY button to submit your post

Can you explain what you mean by "router is not taking my password in ARC"?

I put in 192.168.0.1 on the first connection. I then hit the round button to go to client mode & my d-link comes up wanting to know my password. When I type in the password, it will not take it. I'm going to try resetting the password tomorrow. Maybe I'm using the wrong password.
