Project: By request, my 6 year old son wanted me to design and build him a Hexapod. So I started to whip up some designs...
Very Good! Lots more room for batteries and other essentials like a cold beer!
bhouston How about some info on the innards of your base. Really nice build by the way.
stunning love the colors
@ Robot Doc, I used 2 small 12 volt, 19 RPM motors, here's the link to them http://www.ebay.com/itm/291057616929?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT, They are controlled with a 2X12 Sabertooth motor controller, you can get them from the Robotshop and Solarbotics. I am controlling the Sabertooth with an EZBv4. The third wheel is just a boogie castor, the batteries in the base provide good ballast. I need to, once again, say thanks to Richard R for all his help getting the components and getting them all hooked up and working properly.
I already got to see Bob's base a while back... Now I am glad I didn't show mine in my inMoov video. Bob did a way better design job with his base... Looks Awesome Bob!
:)
Very Nice Design!
This thread needs this.... "I'm all about that base, bout that base, bout that base....no wobble"
@bhouston
Looks GREAT, very impressive! And has inspired me again, to start looking again for a 3D printer to start building a Inmoov.
Do you have more video of it moving long.
@ALL
Without causing a 'snow storm' of abuse, like the Cube posting!
Does anyone have experience of the FlashForge Dreamer printer? I know they had a lot of issues with over heating and the carriage warping, and requiring replacement. Which FlashForge did a Modification which included installed a thermal couple sensor and cooling fans for the chamber temperature. Apart from that, the reviews seems to be an excellent printer for the money, for a newbie.
Cheers, Chris..
Chris, Here is a URL to the Google Flashforge user group that can provide you with the most updated info on Flashforge. I'm still running the earlier Creator dual printer.
If I had a choice (which I did) between the Dreamer and the Creator Pro... It would be the Creator Pro hands down... I took @Doc's advice and purchased the Creator Pro and it has been an awesome printer....
Thanks everyone for your comments, more videos coming. @cem, You should start a new thread to discuss that printer, then the comments won't be lost in this thread for those who look for information on the printer in the future.
@Bob.
I'm really liking the base. Very stable and looks great. Very clean. You have inspired me to start a little early on my next project after seeing the video and base design.
Looks great with the Inmoov.
bhouston, The mobile base adds so much to your already great robot. Looking forward to details. Steve S
@bhouston
Do you have any close up pics of Inmoov's head? Is the head design your own?
Ron
OOOOPS! I just did further research on Inmoov and realize now that it's open source but not available for commercial use.
(never mind, Bob)
