Learn robotics as you build. Course includes hours of detailed video instruction on 3d printing, assembling, wiring and programming your robot head with a detailed BOM for parts and materials. The course will guide you through the completion of the robot head ALAN, but the online store will include many new modular parts like heads, necks and shoulders to modify your robot into new characters. One platform unlimited robots.
Parts & Materials
You will build using proven controllers like the EZB, IO Tiny, Arduino and ESP 32s as controllers for servo motions LEDs and camera/vision.
You'll need various tools including a 3D printer to produce the plastic parts, use of soldering iron, heat sinks, standard tools like wrenches etc. If you are a DIY builder you will have alot of the tools and parts needed.

Here is an example of the graph editor and keyframes from the servos above. Yeah it looks like a lot of keyframes...but there is a built in key thinner...which reduces the keyframes (but keeps the motions) to a few keys that are easier to edit using many types of included curves, including smoothing and Bezier curves with handles. This all comes down to super detailed motions.
What servos does ARC support? Can I use inexpensive ones like MG90S?
You can use a multitude of types of servos. But short answer is yes, you can use those servos no problem.
Great, because some of the robotics projects I've seen use outrageously expensive ones!
Yeah many dynamixels servos are super expensive, feetech has expensive ones as well but they have advanced features. Alan in the Mecha Morphix platform uses 3- 1/5th scale servos and 2 low profile servos and one analog servo for the mouth.
Are they easy to get in Canada and relatively inexpensive? Do you give alternatives?
They should be accessible in Canada. The entire project is designed around these specific servos. The 1/5th scale servos move the head (rotate and tilt/up and down) so the servos need a lot torque to move those items around. They are the work horses, about $30 USD each. Then the low profile servos are about $26 USD each and the analog servo is about $48 USD. Relatively cheap compared to dynamixels and other servos. My original ALAN had dynamixels totaling over $2000! Mecha Morphix Alan is going to be about $200 in servos. So in that since it is relatively cheap.
I have some DS3225MG 25 Kg servos that are pretty powerful. Would they work? I have the US exchange to consider too!
