Yes - brushless motors require a brushless motor controller, so they would not use:

  • Sabertooth Movement Panel
  • Dual H-Bridge w/PWM

Those two are for brushed DC motors only.

For brushless motors in ARC, use a skill like:

Important distinction

  • Brushed DC motor = uses an H-bridge / motor driver
  • Brushless motor = uses an ESC / brushless controller

If your cycloidal gear setup is being driven by a brushless motor, then yes, it can work in ARC as long as the controller is a brushless controller and the Movement Panel skill matches the hardware.

About the cycloidal gear

The gear mechanism itself doesn’t determine the ARC skill - the motor type and controller do. So ARC only cares about:

  • what motor is installed
  • how it is controlled
  • whether the skill supports that controller

Quick check

If you tell me:

  1. the exact motor model
  2. the controller/ESC model
  3. whether it’s single motor or dual motor

I can tell you exactly which ARC skill to use and how to wire/configure it.
