Rover 2.0 Compatible With ARC?

I recently got the Broookstone Rover 2.0 as a gift. I started watching some videos about how you can control the Rover 1 with E-Z Builder software. After messing around on it, I noticed it cannot connect to the Rover 2. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong or if the second one is just not compatible with the software.

So you know, I have no robot experience, as I just became interested and the Rover is my first robot I got to mod and mess around with.

Hello riley , welcome to EZ Robot! The brookstone 2.0 is still fairly new and theres no support in ARC for it yet. It would require sdk which is for more experienced users that are familiar with custom code.

As of my knowledge cutoff in early 2023, the Brookstone Rover 2.0 is not natively supported by Synthiam ARC. The Rover 2.0 has its own proprietary control protocol, which differs from the Rover 1.0 that had been previously integrated into ARC through a custom robot skill.

For users interested in integrating the Rover 2.0 with ARC, it would require developing a custom robot skill that can communicate with the Rover 2.0's control system. This typically involves understanding the communication protocol used by the Rover 2.0 and writing code to interface with it.

If you have programming experience or are willing to learn, you could potentially create a custom robot skill for the Rover 2.0 by following the guide on creating robot skills available here: https://synthiam.com/Support/Create-Robot-Skill/Overview

This process would involve using the SDK or API provided by the manufacturer, if available, or reverse-engineering the communication protocol. However, this can be a complex task and may not be suitable for someone without prior robotics or programming experience.

For the latest information on supported devices and robot skills, please check the Synthiam website or the ARC robot skill store, as new skills are added by the community and Synthiam team over time.

I remember watching that video when I was a kid. The fun part was that the distance sensor and servo had to be connected to the EZ-Bv3. I believe there was also a part of the video showing the rover roaming around his house. Sadly, I can't find the video anymore.
