This is going to sound weird but I can honestly thank ez robot for the motivation to get Nao. Ez robot showed me how far robots have come and how cool and fun they are. Once I saw Nao on Eastbound and Down I became even more robot obsessed. JD was going to be my version of Nao until I found the Hovis Eco. Around the time I made my purchase of the Eco I found someone willing to sell their Nao.
I knew how rare they were in the open market and what the standard retail price was and simply couldn't say no to having one of the most advanced humanoid robots on the market.
So after clearing out a lot of my personal stuff that had been collecting dust I was able to make this happen.
I haven't messed with his hands too much. I have been able to get the new software downloaded, proceeded to overload him and crash his system, factory reset him and then did it again. I probably shouldn't have had him try to run all of his programs at startup. He has a little bit of a learning curve and hopefully I won't crash him again. But at least I know how to fix him now.
