Mp3 Trigger - Sparkfun

Loaded up some Wall-E sounds onto my MP3 (Sparkfun) Trigger and can't seem to get it to work correctly. I have followed DJ's video on connecting it to the EZ-Board to the tee. I plug it into the EZ-Board, for power only, and try to cycle through the sounds using the button but only get one track (or sound) and it is fuzzy? The files are in the MP3 format.

Does it make a difference what the file names are? ex. ... Wall-E_raspberry.mp3 ... is that ok? Any help or ideas what is wrong would be greatly appreciated.

Edited: Hooked up MP3 Trigger and all functions correctly inside ARC software. Just for some reason it will not cycle through the files using the button, stops at file 1. No big deal as everything works with software but just a little curious now why.

If everything is working perfectly under software control, then it can only really be a button-related issue I think. Sorry for the blindingly obvious question, but I assume that you are rocking the button on the sparkfun to move to the next or previous track?...if you just press the button it will indeed just play the same track again and again.

File names don't appear to fuss the sparkfun - I have them in all sorts of combinations, including spaces and they work fine. The only anomoly I have found is that it defaults to allocating them in the order by date/time that they loaded, not by filename, which can be frustrating if you have a lot of them and don't keep a record of when you loaded them blush

LOL

Just call me NOOB !

I was in fact just pressing the button in and not rocking it to advance to the next file :( Glad to have figured it out but it doesn't make me feel any smarter today :)

Thanks for your reply & help

@Herr ball , somtimes file names and last modified dates cause these units not to function in an ideal way. Try this...

Format the memory and load the mp3 files like this...

audio1.mp3 audio2.mp3 audio3.mp3 ect.....

In chronological order from the time you renamed the files.
