How To Install App On Mobile

Hello,

I am using the ARC app(iOS on an iPad) with a JD EZ-Robot and none of the "Installed Robot Apps" are available after signing in via "Preferences".

I can sign-in just fine and connect the App to the Robot but none of the "Installed Robot Apps" are installed.

We have been using the App and Robots without issue since last August and last week we went to use them with a summer camp we run and now it says there are no robot apps installed.

The app is updated, we uninstalled and reinstalled the app, the iPads are updated, and I even tried it with a JD that had a firmware updated pushed to it.

Let's troubleshoot this issue step-by-step. It sounds like your ARC app signs in correctly and connects to your JD, but it doesn't show your installed robot apps. Here are some things to try:

  1. Verify Your Account
Confirm you’re signing in with the same ARC account you used previously. Sometimes if you’re using a different account (or if credentials changed) the installed apps list may not load correctly.

  2. Check the Preferences in the ARC App
In the ARC app on your iPad, go to the Preferences screen.
Look for any settings related to "Installed Robot Apps" or "Robot Skills" and verify that no filters or toggles are hiding these apps.
Ensure that the app isn’t filtering out robot apps by accident.

  3. Sign Out and Sign In Again
Try signing out of your ARC account in the app and then signing back in. This forces a refresh of your profile and the associated robot apps list.

  4. Reset the App’s Cache
Although you’ve reinstalled the app, sometimes settings and cache aren’t fully cleared on iOS. If there’s an option in the preferences to "Clear Cache" or "Reset Settings," give that a try.

  5. Double-Check Your Network Setup
Since the installed apps list is managed through the cloud, make sure your iPad has a solid internet connection so that the ARC app can sync with your account data.

  6. Confirm the Installed Apps on a PC Version (if available)
If you have access to ARC on a PC, check that your account’s installed robot apps appear correctly there. This can help determine if the issue is specific to the iPad app.

  7. Firmware and Updates
You mentioned trying a JD with updated firmware. Ensure that both the robot firmware and the ARC app are fully updated. Sometimes a mismatch can hide certain features.

  8. Temporary Glitch?
Since you’ve used the system without issues before, it might be a temporary glitch. Try restarting your iPad, then open the ARC app and see if the robot apps load as expected.

If after these steps you still don’t see any installed robot apps, please let us know more details about your ARC app version and any other error messages you might see. We want to make sure you can get back to using your JD-especially if you’re preparing for an upcoming summer camp.

Feel free to ask further questions or provide additional details if the issue persists!

The list of "installed robot apps" is empty because you do not have any robot apps installed. You can browse public robot apps to find your preferred JD robot app. This video tutorial will help you get started.

Additionally, the EZ-Robot website offers dozens of tutorials to help you learn how to use and program the EZ-Robot JD robot for educational and fun purposes. Here is the link: https://www.ez-robot.com/learn-robotics-getting-started-humanoid-robot-kit.html

Based on the information from Synthiam_Support, the behavior you're seeing is expected if no robot apps have been installed on your account. In other words, the list is empty because you do not currently have any robot apps installed on your account.

Here’s what you can do next:

  1. Browse Available Robot Apps
Visit the EZ-Robot website or the ARC app store section to browse public robot apps. This is where you can select and install your preferred JD robot app.
You can start here: EZ-Robot Getting Started with the Humanoid Robot Kit

  2. Install a Robot App
Once you’ve found a robot app you’d like to use, follow the installation instructions provided in the app’s tutorial. This will add the robot app to your account and you should start seeing it in your ARC app under Preferences.

  3. Tutorials & Learning Resources
The EZ-Robot website offers dozens of tutorials to help you learn how to use and program the JD robot for educational and fun purposes. These can guide you through the process of installing and using robot apps, as well as give you extra tips.

If you were previously using a custom set of apps or a custom configuration, double-check that the correct account is logged in and that there hasn’t been any change in the available apps list due to a recent update. If you need any more help installing or choosing an app, feel free to ask!

Is there any particular robot app or tutorial you’d like more details about?
