So looking around I saw a couple of ideas like That sound-proof foam or tinfoil. What I'm wondering is how I can make my rad base's gearboxes quieter for cheap so I can use it to do recon. Any ideas are welcome.
I believe Josh has had some success in this area with the sound proof sheet foam you mentioned and additional lube in the gearbox.

I confirm, lubrication of the gearbox and soundproofing are what you will need to do, or put up with the noise.
