A Mission For My V8

How about a robot powered by a model V8 1/4 scale running gas engine? I love the idea but what could the purpose be for all that power? The block is only 6 inches and produces about 10 HP. I want to think small.

Build a 1/4 scale ez-b controlled, V8 powered model car... Who needs a purpose for a lot of power? I certainly didn't need one when I got a 4.2L V8 powered car to drive 10 miles a day in heavy traffic:D

That hardest part is the way a car steers vs a robot. Robots rotate on an axis while cars turn moving forward.

Unless you get creative and use the motor to drive the wheels of a regular robot

Now you are talking DJ. I want to build another robot but use my model engine building hobby in conjunction. Bye the way, I still remember the compliment you gave me when Buster and I gave you a shout out back in the day.

How about something a little smaller like a 4 banger to run a hydraulic pump for a hydraulic drive and cylinders for actuators?

bookmaker32, I bet if you build another robot, it will be great. You mentioned you wanted to build another robot, but use your model engine building hobby in conjunction. If you want to combine things, have one of your model engines power a small D.C. generator to charge your new robotic project. It could be as small as a bike generator to a larger dc unit. I remember seeing Buster on the forum when I found EZ Robot , awesome. Steve S
