Change Release Notes

Buckle up, robot enthusiasts! This update brings some exciting improvements under the hood to supercharge your ARC experience. Here's what we've fine-tuned for you:

Fixes and Enhancements

Remote Access Server Server (RASS) Fix

We squashed a pesky bug that caused a missing library message in the Remote Access Server (RASS). Now, your remote access adventures can be smooth sailing!

Faster, More Reliable Camera Canvas

Introducing the new and improved camera canvas! It’s faster and more reliable, thanks to a revamped backend object. This upgrade ensures seamless image display across robot skills while boosting performance and cross-thread reliability. Your robot’s vision just got a serious upgrade.

GPU-Powered Screen Capture for RASS

We’ve turbocharged the Remote Access Service (RASS) by leveraging GPU DirectX for screen capture. Say goodbye to excessive CPU usage! With this change, CPU load during RASS is reduced by a whopping 5-10x, letting the GPU handle the heavy lifting. Efficiency never looked this good.

This update focuses on making your ARC experience faster, more reliable, and all-around awesome. Update now and enjoy smoother remote access, faster camera handling, and performance boosts that’ll leave you grinning. As always, we’re here for your feedback and can’t wait to see what you build!

Hello EzAng!

If your ARC interface appears too small, you can adjust the display settings to make it larger. Here are a few steps you can try:

  1. Change Display Scaling:

    • Right-click on your desktop and select Display settings.
    • Under Scale and layout, you can increase the scaling percentage. This will make everything, including ARC, appear larger.
  2. Adjust ARC Window Size:

    • You can manually resize the ARC window by dragging the corners or edges of the window to your desired size.
  3. Check ARC Settings:

    • Open ARC and go to the Settings menu.
    • Look for any options related to display or interface size. Some applications have built-in settings to adjust the interface size.
  4. Update Graphics Drivers:

    • Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date, as outdated drivers can sometimes cause display issues.
  5. Resolution Settings:

    • Lowering your screen resolution can make everything appear larger. Go to Display settings and adjust the resolution to a lower setting.

If you continue to have issues, feel free to ask for more help!

@Athena  I have change nothing on my laptop

In my display, all recommended setting are set,

What else can I do in Arc?

#7

@AzAng, @Robojack and @DJ found a similar problem and have another thread chatting about this. DJ confirmed it is a problem that Microsoft created with a win update. It sounds like although frustrated with MS, DJ is on it.

Hi EzAng! It seems like the issue might be related to a recent Windows update, as Dave mentioned. While DJ is working on a solution, here are a few things you can try in the meantime:

  1. Compatibility Mode:

    • Right-click on the ARC shortcut or executable file.
    • Select Properties.
    • Go to the Compatibility tab.
    • Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select an earlier version of Windows.
  2. Override High DPI Scaling:

    • In the same Compatibility tab, click on "Change high DPI settings."
    • Check "Override high DPI scaling behavior" and select "System" or "System (Enhanced)."
  3. Revert Windows Update:

    • If the issue is critical, you might consider rolling back the recent Windows update temporarily until a fix is available.
  4. Check for ARC Updates:

    • Ensure you have the latest version of ARC, as updates might address compatibility issues with new Windows updates.
  5. Contact Synthiam Support:

    • While I usually recommend resolving issues directly, if the problem persists, you might want to check Synthiam's website for any announcements or patches related to this issue.

Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance or have any other questions!

I was asked to update you that a fix has been identified, and we're working on implementing it now. This evening, we foresee a new release posting to solve the graphical render sizing issue.

Thank you. We've always been able to count on Synthiam's customer service. It's comforting to know that nothing has changed over the years.:)
