Usb Ttl To Ez-B 3.0

hello all, I know Im a little behind in the times, but I have a ez-b 3 that I am trying to get rid of the Bluetooth and go with a usb ttl. I have tried it in to in and out to out also in to out and out to in. I have the ground connected, but not the power lead. at one point I did manage to update the firmware. but is still cant figure it out. I don't know what might have happen but now the Bluetooth module won't even light up. it did before. I hate to give up on this little board, but its looking like I might have to buy the new one. any suggestions appreciated.
