Ultrasonic Displaying 20 Or 255?

I was using the ultrasonic sensor provided with the kit (HC-SR04) and all was working fine. The sensor only displays 20 now:( I have power cycled the ez-b, restarted the software, and checked the wiring. Looks like there was a single strand coming off the Ground pin going to the Echo pin. Would this cause the sensor to break?

I suspect that poor electrical connections will present themselves as erroneous readings.

355? I thought it only went up to 255?

It could be the electrical connections to the sensor and EZB but it could also be the material it is detecting, ultra sonic can have difficulty with some materials.
