Jd Robot Servo Question
My JD Robot's servos start to buzz (and sometimes smoke) whenever I attempt to calibrate it. I later found out that I'm supposed to manually tune the servos if they require more than 10 degrees of fine tune. I watched all the tutorials in the past, but clearly forgot some important information. My servos require more than 100 degrees of tuning. What I'm wondering is should I even attempt to manually tune all the servos if they've started smoking. Are they still usable?
Side note: I bought my JD robot around 4 years ago, but I haven't used it after giving up out of confusion. I'm 14 now so I thought I'd give it another shot.
Hey aqua - thanks for purchasing the first generation of jd. We’ve made significant upgrades since then - in both hardware and the robot program activities.
The new servos are designed to not require manual calibration AND are super strong. They also are more power efficient. We did offer an upgrade package to owners. We’d gladly offer the upgrade package to you. Please Contact Us and tell the customer service representative that I told you on the forum that we’ll help you get a servo upgrade.
