I see this is an extremely old post but I just saw it on another google search where this post came up. I picked up an old V2 for 20 bucks that still has a working circuit board when testing. Of course every leg wire has disintegrated insulation on wires that all need replacing. So I am curious what this old post was asking ,the question about EZB D1 pin connecting to V2 circuit board . Like , was it asking how to connect for remote control signal?  On a side note, I also picked up a 1999 Rad Robot 2.0 for 20 bucks and 2 perfect Roombas for 15 bucks each both had bad battery packs but worked perfect with new batteries! I seem to be re living my 2015 years again!

Thing is, that functionality was removed from later firmwares of the ezb v2 and v3. Thats awesome you got a v2!! I think I have 1 of them. There was only a few hundred of those made. By hand by me!

I’m not fully sure what the option will be to get those old robosapiens controlled these days.

oh there is an option of using the Rochler Dance Machine program .Still able to download from open source web site ,which can be used on any windows computer. With a certain Bluetooth device of the serial port version Mindstorm Leggo Brick robot Bluetooth control or 1 other Bluetooth device sold at a web site still in business I believe. The serial port version is available used for about 20 bucks and you need an older laptop /pc with the serial connector at back. I tried it out years ago but it does not work 100% of the time very fussy sending the IR commands to robot. When it does work it is very similar to the ARC graphic programming just not as sophisticated. I did get both the robosapien 1 and the big V2 doing amazing security guard stuff roaming avoiding objects just running from old laptop for hours at a time. Getting an ezb tiny would be cool to work on my V2 but it will only be added for voice personality and possibly room mapping Lidar that would simply stop the walking and back up to turn. anyway much trial and error LOL! They really are cool when a program on a laptop will run it while you just sit back in amusement. The back is opened up and the wiring is a disappointing bird nest of straggly copper wires no insulation left. A true fire hazzard until all 20 of the foot wires replaced. Big job but worth it since these are collector items with new wiring.

I just want to stress how dangerous these 20 year old robot toys can be. If you had one sitting around for years and just try adding the batteries now. You should not screw the battery covers down. Hold them down with both hands and press power button on for only 20-30 seconds .if you hear the voice saying starting up ,is ok. If you hear bad motivator or brain batteries low shutting down. It is a fire hazard, take out all batteries , you have the bad wire problem and they are short circuiting , some batteries will feel hot as well. Do not leave any batteries inside there. If Lipo or nickel rechargeable, even more super dangerous as these fires can’t be put out with water. Consider a re wiring service like robohospital.
