AI Moderation Impact On Engagement

Too Much AI?

How much AI involvement is too much when it impacts user engagement? For me, it becomes an issue when it feels restrictive.

I've noticed that the Synthiam forum has become very specific and regulated. Recently, an AI system rewrote the content of my question and even changed the title, unfortunately in an incorrect manner. I haven't posted a question here in a while, so I'm unsure when these changes were implemented, but it's disheartening and makes this community feel less welcoming.

I am concerned about recommending this forum to my students for posting their questions if things continue in this direction.

The ai grammar fixer was created for people who have challenges writing English or spelling. Also, it helps add technical information to questions otherwise lacking in a question. The forum has less questions because the answers are found easier in the support and manuals. Also, the conversations are less lengthy threads because the answers are provided faster.

You can uncheck the auto fix grammar option so not use the ai.

I can add to what DJ is saying that the support success rate has been significantly raised with the optimizations. As a human that volunteers to provide free support on the forum, i can share how taxing and challenging it can be.

Specifically when the person asking the question may not know enough about the topic to provide enough information. So I end up having to go back and forth several times to get clarity. With the AI grammar and spelling fix, it adds info and reforms the question to be easier to understand.

DJ always wants to ensure everyone is supported to have a successful experience.  But with the huge number of users growing daily, it’s challenging. It’s also clear to me why other companies don’t offer any support.

Athena is very helpful to my volunteer support efforts.

Understood. But I'm a 59 year old man who doesn't need an AI to rewrite for me thank you, especially when the tone or content of the message is altered. I've been posting for well over 10 years here and very rarely is intent or questions misconstrued or not understood.. I will uncheck AI fix grammar as suggested by DJ. Thank you for the option.
