We’re excited to announce the latest update to ARC, packed with improvements to audio processing and speech recognition, ensuring smoother and more customizable performance for your robotics projects.

What’s New?

1. WaveIn and WaveOut Enhancements:

   • Both WaveIn and WaveOut now utilize Function callbacks instead of relying on the UI thread.
   • This change reduces dependency on UI message loops, leveraging their own threads for processing.
   • While this uses slightly more overhead, it results in a more efficient and reliable system moving forward.

2. Bing Speech Recognition Update:

   • A new option in the configuration menu allows you to enable or disable the playback of the wake word acknowledgment sound.
   • Choose whether or not to play a sound when the wake word is detected, giving you greater control over how the system responds.

3. Log Message for Recording Start:

   • Bing Speech Recognition now logs a message whenever recording begins, providing clearer insights into system behavior.
