New Pics Of Project Gizmo

Well, progress is being made, albiet slowly, but progress none the less. All 3 decks are now in. The neck post is mounted. I've built it so that I can remove the head and the upper body shell for maintaince and modifications. Wiring runs through the neck mounting tube and servo exstension cables allow me to unplug the different wiring cables. I've programmed some head movements and the eyes are now "blinking".

That's a really neat looking robot. Will there be any arms in his future? Can't wait to see a video.

Much thanks rgordon.I do indeed plan on having arms. The tenative design is going to use some servo gearboxes from servo city, with 1/2 inch tubing connecting to the shoulders. I'm thinking about using PVC conduit junctions with PVC tubing for the arms. It would be relatively inexpensive but yet light and strong. I will post pics as I develop it.

Could you be more specific on your pix of the neck assembly. And, especially the tilt portion. I understand the pan portion.

oh, and Where did you get the parts to make the tilt portion of the neck assembly.

thanks,

Mel

@Robotz012248 - have you seen this gripper? It could be a nice cheap solution to your gripper hands. Off the shelf parts from the hardware store and a vacuum pump for 14 bucks.
Gripper I want to build one for my big bot.

@ Bret : Thanks for giving me the link. Looks interesting. I'll be looking at it in more depth. Lloyd

How about a progress report on one of my favorite designs?

@ Mel : All progress has been stopped on "Gizmo" as well as "Servo" due to the fact that I can not get the L289N motor drivers to work correctly. I have a new post under Hardware entitled, Back again with questions on the L289N motor driver. You can get the details there on the problem. A couple of the community members have offered some help, but unfortunately it has not solved my problem. I have asked for help from DJ but for whatever reason he is reluctant to offer any. I do believe that I have been diligent and through in my troubleshooting efforts, but still no resolution is forth coming. Thanks for your interest in my project. I hope all of yours are progressing well. Lloyd
