Startup Troubleshooting

Windows 8, Microsoft BlueTooth stack, and the BT dongle I ordered with my EZ-B

I can connect to the EZ-B, but the bluetooth device list swiches to "Offline" within a few seconds. Attempts to connect get this error:

I went through the hardware diagnostics, and everything checks out. I am getting the fast blink on the blue, as expected. The BT module light goes solid briefly after connecting, then goes back to a fast blink.

I can connect to other BT devices without issue.

What is my next step?

Do you have anything connected to the ezb , also what power source are you using and are they fresh batteries? You could try uninstalling and "forgetting" the Bluetooth. Then just reboot... Plug Bluetooth in and within a few seconds it should be available to use. 90 percent of Bluetooth disconnection is a result of aftermarket bluetooth drivers , low power( browning out) or loss of signal ( too far away)

New batteries in the holder which came with the kit. I checked the voltages from the troubleshooting video. I have tried 3 different bluetooth dongles on 3 different laptops (all combinations possible) with the same result. One XP, one Windows 7, one Windows 8. All have stock Microsoft bluetooth drivers.
