I'm trying to update the ARC software, but at the download page it does not say/show support for Windows Vista.
I have Windows Vista Home Premium.
Will it be safe to download Version 2013.06.26.00 and install it on Windows Vista?...
No. Support for Vista is no longer offered due to the many issues Vista has.
If you update chances are you will be unable to use the video controls.
Upgrade to Windows 7 or Windows 8, you will find it makes the PC run faster overall too.
However, there is always the chance you may be OK. If you still have the original installation file for your current version don't delete it. Download the update. Back up your projects. Install the update. Try it. If it doesn't work uninstall ARC and reinstall from the old setup file. Restore your backed up projects.
Sorry it took me this long to answer.
I bought a new comp with windows 8 a week ago, but it is so different that I just put it aside until I learn how to use it I need to put aside 5-7 hours to learn it, through a tutorial.
I just learned Windows 7 Professional 3 weeks ago, I do not want to go trough another one, for at least a month!.
I heard the rumors about W8 (being difficult and so alien), I never tough it would happen to me!.stress
I could not get out of square 1, do not ask me how I turned it off, shh, just unplug it. cool
Thanks for your help.
