Hi there I just unpacked my EZ-Robot kit and I am very excited. I got everything going except the normal servos. I can hear the sound of them turning but the servo is not actually turning. Yes I know I am doing stupid but please guide me. My continious servos are working fine.
I am in my infant stage but I can see I will have lots of fun!
Agree with sfoy, sounds like a power issue, especially if your RC car servos work.
Thanks all. I used the bench power supply I bought extra with the EZ Robot package on the RC car servos and the ones in the box so the problem is still with the servos then. I will use another power supply tonight when I get home and check if I can sort it out. What Voltage do you guys suggest?
If possible would try to get one comparable to the one they sell in ez store.
I think it's 12v
Ok now my excitement is turning into fustration and disapointment. It is not a power supply problem. I opened one servo and it seems to be the gearbox ceasing up the whole time. It must be the whole batch of them; now I wonder about the quality of the stuff. Going to take the servos to an RC shop tomorrow and get their opnion. I also sent a technical enquiry to through the website last night and no answer yet. Must say I am very disapointed.
Be patient. They are traveling back from Maker Faire in the Bay Area. Had to drive so he could bring all of his robots. Canada is a bit of a drive and I know he mentioned cramming lots of meetings into the trip.
I am sure DJ will make it all good. It may just be a bad batch you got. DJ does not make the servos. He just provides them for cheaper than most places. The EZ-B is a good quality product.
This is strange though. If you comb the forum this is the first I have seen of straight up bad servos.
It is a drainer when things go poopie. I am constantly getting frustrated. :o)
By any chance have you lubricated your servos , sometimes it breaks them loose. Yes servos with high torque ratings , pretty much anything over 60 oz in at 6v must bypass the ezb direct to battery , the ground must be connected to ground on ezb pin and also ground on battery , its called a ground reference line.
It's not like DJ sells cheap no-name servos, those are name brand Futaba RC servos in his kit. This has got be a major fluke. I'm sure they'll make it right, just give them time to get back to the office!
Thank you for your posts. I will wait till they come back.
