Cannot Connect To The Wi Fi

1.Is the battery on the robot fully charged? yes 2.Does the robot's EZ-B v4 make a startup sound when powered on? Is there a verbal message spoken from the EZ-B v4? If so, you may need to reset The EZ-B v4. it starts up just like the video.

3.Is there a green or blue light flashing on the EZ-B v4 when powered on? blue flashing. 4.What color is the light on the EZ-B v4? blue flashing

5.Are you connecting the device to the WiFi network of the EZ-B v4 by following the video instructions on this page? yes

6.Press the connect button in ARC once you have connected to the WiFi network of the EZ-B v4. ?If an error appears, some devices take up to 1 minute to detect the ezb - wait 5-10 seconds and press connect again. ?Note: do not change or modify the IP address field on connection screen. Use the default value. did this and having errors

7.If a connection still does not occur, does the EZ-B v4 WiFi name display that it is connected on your device? says its connected

8.Have you double checked the wire connections to the EZ-B v4 using the very helpful learn section on our website? Ensuring the black wire if all plugs matches the black side of the ezb connections? Etc... yes I have double checked

9.Reset the EZ-B and repeat this procedure if you are still experiencing issues. Done this again. ?Resetting tutorial can be found here ?When resetting, does EZ-B speak introduction message as in the video? yes

10.If still unable to connect, notify EZ-Robot with the answers to these questions. Also provide what device is being used to connect to the EZ-Robot? I'm connecting with my desktop PC, windows 7, with a USB Wi-Fi dongle from Belkin Wireless N. Also of note is that I am hardwired to the network via Ethernet also. I click connect and it gives me the error message. then I try the circular button next to the IP address and it asks for my user name and password for my wireless router. I do this but it asks again and again or just says connecting and nothing happens. Below is the Diagnostic Report if that helps.

You say that you have a wired connection as well as the WiFi dongle. Try disconnecting the hardwire connection and try again.

If the problem still persists, you can try connecting via your router using "Client Mode" to hopefully get you up and running at least.

Here's how to connect to "Client Mode".

  1. Connect to the EZ-B's WiFi with a phone/tablet/another PC.

  2. Open your phone/tablet/other PC's search engine, and in the web browser at the top of the screen, type in... http://192.168.1.1

  3. The ezb web server will come up.

  4. Locate the Client Wifi button on that web page and click on it.

  5. It will ask you to enter your SSID (network name) and router password (which is case sensitive).

  6. Press save and you done with using your phone/tablet/other PC. This will reboot the EZ-B and the LED will start flashing green. You should now be in client mode.

  7. Now go back to the computer you want to use and open ARC and use the scan tool in the connection control icon that looks like a mini cell phone tower to locate your ezb.

  8. If it finds your EZ-B's IP address you will hear a chime. Press "Stop" wait a couple of seconds for the address font to become bold, then press "Connect". You will hear the EZ-B chime again to confirm it's connected.

Hopefully that will help. If you still having trouble, then report back.

#2

Looking at the diagnostic report, Steve is correct, you have an IP address conflict. Your router is 192.168.1.1 which is also the address of the EZ-B when un AP mode. Best solution is to unplug from the wired, configure your EZ-B as a client on your router, then plug back in and use the find function to locate the new IP address of the EZ-B on your network. (alternately you can change your router subnet to a non conflicting one, but that is more advanced and could impact other devices on your network like printers).

Thank you very much for your help. I just disconnected my hard line and it works just fine.
