Which Language

Morning People,

I have recently purchased two complete sets of EZ Robot for my brother and I with the ultimate intention of taking over the world. We are of the the more senior side but not complete Ludites. I am looking to learn a programming language from scratch and would like to ask which ( VB C C++ ) you young whippersnappers would recomend me to study. This bearing in mind may ultimately lead to your total down fall. Thanking you in anticipation.

I was wondering the same thing about the programming languages.

But how can you take over the world when I am going to? :D

Rural Geek

Soon my robots and I will take over the WORLD! Well maybe the basement. That is if my wife lets me!

In ARC you really only need to learn EZ-Script, which is a natural scripting language. It is natural in the sense that it uses descriptive keywords that are common within the software.

Many programming languages are generic and made to create custom programs, where EZ-Script differs because is confined within ARC. This means the commands are specific to ARC functions (i.e. changing camera settings, moving robot forward or stop, speaking, etc.)

Once you play in ARC long enough, you'll start to feel comfortable with robot operations. After that, you can move to a programming language like C# (which is quite flexible and easy). There are almost tutorial examples in our EZ-SDK package for C#. There are many users currently using it - although most people stick to ARC :)

Many Thanks

I shall download ARC and assimilate into the Dalek knowledge

Perhaps Rural Geek could implant his main board into his wife and gain a modicom of control, mind you he better have an escape plan if she gets wind of it.

Seems that world domination is harder than we first thought confused

I, for one, welcome our future robot overlords... at least until my own robotic creations get up to speed and shrug off all lesser opposition :P

This could turn out to be an epic battle... I'll be in my bunk-er :D

@dale I can't complain too much, she let's me be the big kid that I am. :D

@gunner I am with you, but I have worked with industrial robotics and automation my whole career as an electrician. So I hope on good terms with our overlords, but just in case save a spot in your bunker. :P

I am indeed looking to spawn a new Dalek, have just been contemplating on how to achieve a working iris in the eye lens.A small lcd screen would be more practicle than mechanical although I should be able to source a mech one quite easily and cheaply from an old camera lens. It is these lesser details which will dictate overall scale. Any human input will be looked upon favourably when we conquer your feeble race.

@dalekkrell LOL

That Dalek will make a wild bot.
