Yikes....all I can say. HK is not a big favorite among many of us RC guys. All your ever read about on the rc forums is how bad the customer service is. sick

Checkout the price on the Developer Kit $88.20 ! Might be an indication that the v4/2 will be out soon. Even so I think I am going to pick up 2 and upgrade when it comes available. Thanks jstarne1

For those prices, and without the international shipping cost or customs charges, I'll deal with poor customer service. They did OK by me with some Turnigy replacement batteries for my Parrot AR Drone, although admittedly, I didn't need customer service. They shipped what I ordered with no issues.

A lot of ezrobot product flows through hobby king, they're a great reseller - haven't had a customer complaint from them yet. That could also be that anyone requiring support comes here :)

The /2 has been available in our store. The /2 upgraded will be online this weeekend. Photos for it are being taken this morning edits will be done by Monday.

#6

@DJ... Good news indeed... I hate to ask but will the IOTiny follow or is it on hold for the time being?

Iotiny will be online shortly. The photos for the box are being shot this morning as well - the editing for the box will be completed next week. And I believe it will be about 3-4 weeks for the manufacturing of the boxes. We should see the iotiny on the website in the next few weeks :)

Did I miss an announcement, or was it just updated without comment? This is exciting news indeed.

Similar to Richard, I hate to pester, but do you also expect the updated 4in1 sensors soon? How about the USB connector for the /2?

As soon as the /2 upgrade kit is available I'll be ordering some stuff, and I want to get the most shipping bang for the buck.

I have use HK a few times and they have always been quick and responded to customer service emails quickly. When I had a product issue I had a refund issued that day.

#10

@DJ.... Thank you... We appreciated you getting these new products out the door.... As with Allan, I too plan on buying many of the new products (after my store credit is gone I will be happy to spend much more than that on my Mastercard)....

Again thanks Richard

I wonder who decides their prices? They are selling the EZB-4 for $80 and the camera for $60. Yet you can get the developer kit, which includes an EZB-4 and a bare bones camera for $8 more than the EZB-4 itself. Not to mention the servos, and ultrasonic sensor. Gee, I wonder which I would buy?

I just purchased 7 EZ-B developer kits from them. They are $79 US each umm all I really wanted was a dozen servos but I figured for that price .... (not sure if it was a mistake but heh ) They have tons left in stock.

That's a serious price reduction. I bet it's old stock with the old servos.

Oh no please Don't tell me that Dave :-( now I look at the pictures the continues 360 servo's have white (looks like plastic gear) not the metal gear on the ones I have now. Is there a way to tell if they are old or new stock when they arrive.

I am quite certain it's stock of previous hardware (HD servos, not HDD) - and i believe they may be ez-b v4.x/1 (not the latest ez-b hardware).

thanks DJ I was going to donate several to my kids school (he is 13 - perfect age). I will try and come up with a couple of cool projects to build with a 3D printer and a development kit.

#17

I bought the developer kit last week, can confirm their the V4 with the HDD servos.

Looked into my old developer kit and the servos are different, new kit has the HDD's.

When i connected it to wi-fi it said V4/2. : )

G'Day Newagetomy,

I ordered mine out of Hong Kong warehouse (Import tax reseasons) Not sure where you ordered yours from but since you are in AP Hong Kong seems logical. I purchased last kits in Hong Kong warehouse but USA still has supply.

#19

Hola Nink,

mine was from the AUS warehouse here.

I ordered my first kit from them also but it was the old kit, so was happy to see its the new V4.

Just received an email saying they don't have them all in stock now? So now I think (but not sure) my 7 is reduced to 5 dev kits (and they have not shipped any yet)

On a separate but related note I started building another JD Humanoid printing out the components but there is a bunch of things that can't be printed that are not in dev kits, (Small servos for neck and hands, lipo battery + Charger, screws to attach servos to feet, power switch, cables, LED eyes.

I can obviously run around and get these parts and I will but it would be nice if there was an "upgrade kit" that contained everything that was need to upgrade Dev kit to JD / Six / Roli etc.

Contact us and request the parts directly. There's very few people who 3d print a jd that it wasn't cost effective for customers if we added a product sku. Every project sku is a reserve of inventory that sits on a shelf, which over time costs money and affects the price of all product markup. So holding inventory of some parts that only sells two a year ends up costing more than the product is worth. This is because there's a warehousing and distribution company which handles logistics. Not to bore you with the details, but there's reasons :). Good news is you can Contact Us and we can help directly. The global diy community may be shrinking, but i make sure we still cater to you guys!

Contact us directly and we'll get you setup. You can find the missing parts on our website as individual items as well - except power harness, I believe. have fun!

@Nink,

their still in stock from the AUS warehouse..why don't you order from there..?

Hi @NEWAGETOMY unfortunately i don't get that option for Australia for delivery. I get USA or Hong Kong. If I order from US I typically get hit with a lot of import duty charges but for some reason they don't always charge me from China (especially if I order stuff on ebay). They shipped 5 from Hong Kong on Friday so now I am printing away in anticipation of their arrival :-)

@NEWAGETOMY Thanks for the offer. My Parents are in QLD and 1 Sister on the Gold coast and the other in Sydney so I have another route, but really appreciate you volunteering to help.

I did receive a shipment today. I ordered 7 and paid for 7, they said they only had 5 but would refund me for 2. I received 4 in the mail today and no refund. The invoice says I ordered 7 and they shipped me 7 (Not sure how you reconcile that one when the box they came in can only physically hold 4 - Tardis Box) I will keep you posted.

EDIT: Just received $79 back from HobyKing. Still short 165.98 (2 Items+ Shipping) EDIT2: Just received $165.98 so only ended up paying for 4 items THANKS
