is is possible to have a custom module that ouputs an mp3 as pcm out a digital port. I ask because I am running it to a lm386 amp and speaker. a trick i use with arduinos for basic audio output. can this be made to work on the ezbot board and ARC?
The best solution we can give you is that the EZ-B v4 will have embedded audio, similar to what you are describing!
I don't know if i would consider this a resolved case. Telling me to buy more stuff is not really fair. thanks for the answer tho.
LOL, I think you are misunderstanding what Skater is telling you. He is saying that it is not possible to output audio from the EZ-B v3. Not without using additional hardware.
What additional hardware is needed? I have built the lm386 amp and speaker setup..can i get a pcm audio stream out of one of the digital ports?
I apologize I hadn't really heard of PCM audio before until I looked into it, turns out I've used it in the past just didn't know it was called that. What your asking for is MIDI type music correct? Like chiptunes?
Oddly enough ARC used to have this type of capability, check out my really early beta tester video:
Not sure if DJ would be willing to add this functionality back into ARC but you could always ask
Maybe it's even still there somewhere but truthfully I'm still getting reacquainted with ARC.
Another option is using the sound board control with a wireless (bluetooth or otherwise) speaker, so you can actually play .wav and .mp3 files from ARC thru a speaker on your robot.
And yet another option, as DJ alluded to, is an mp3 trigger type boards that supports multiple formats. Some of these boards can be found out there for as cheap as $15.
can this feature be re enabled in ARC? i would love it! pcm bleeps out to a lm386 amped speaker. pleasepleaseplease?
