Unresolved Refund Issue With Ezrobot
A Warning Regarding My Recent Experience with ezrobot. Eleven years ago, I ordered a V3 from ezrobot, and everything went smoothly at that time. The customer service was excellent.
On November 27th, I placed an order for a V4 from ezrobot. Initially, it was backordered, which I didn't see as a major issue. However, after a month, I decided to cancel the order since the product was still unavailable. I received an email confirmation stating that my order was canceled.
The issue I've encountered is that I haven't been refunded the money billed to me on November 27th. I'm currently working with my bank to resolve this issue, as I view it as quite problematic. When DJ owned ezrobot, I had a much better experience, suggesting that there might have been changes in ownership.
I'm struggling to receive any communication from ezrobot regarding the refund process now that I am attempting to get my money back.
Please be cautious if you're considering making a purchase with ezrobot

I believe Chinese New Year is coming, They mostly will be closed down awhile.

Hi Guys, I also was seeing a delay in shipping a EZB to me. I had been in contact with Operations Manager at EZ Robot, Zachary Coulombe, throughout the delay. He was alway quick to answer and said the problem was depleted stock that they were waiting to receive.
I just got a notice a few days ago that my EZB was finally shipped. I'm pretty sure they ship from the closest location to where the order is going. Although these are made in China, my order shipped from Salt Lake City, here in the USA, to my home in Florida, USA. Even so, it's on a slow ride and is scheduled to deliver in 10 days.
I really think @DJ is speaking the truth about the focus of EZ Robot. I'm of the personal belief that EZ Robot is looking to keep their education market stocked and happy. ED seem to be the first priority for EZ Robot. I guess the plan it "Don't get to far away from the well". That's where the water (money) is that keeps them alive.
So, what do we DIY builders do? I've always been a EZB fan and have used nothing else throughout my robot building journey. However @DJ mentioned to me a few weeks ago about using an Arduino Mega with a Sensor Shield as an alternative to an EZB. Flash the firmware with the ARC software and you have a functional EZB. I've never done it or used this combination of hardware but I'm thinking about trying it out. I don't know if it'll have the same reliability as an EZB and the footprint looks a bit bigger. However with low demand robots (no insult intended) it may be worth a try? The shield looks like it gives you servo control (Digital pins), Uarts and ADC. Same as an EZB.
The only thing I'm wary about is I've heard that the Arduino's Uarts are not the best. Again, I can't confirm that.
hi dave
thank you for the update . im surprized to read they responded to you and not us . its ok when shippings are late but let people know .
I wanted you guys to know that we're sorry for the troubles you've been having with us (I still work for EZ-Robot part-time). I'm currently even less involved in the day-to-day operations and while I don't hold the answers as I don't deal with customer service, note that your concerns have been brought the appropriate parties. You guys should have received an email from us in the last couple days, please check your all your email folders if you haven't seen it or contact our customer service if you haven't received it.
I was hoping/expecting Jer would chime in. I knew he would, and that's the right man for the job! I'm sure there are also logistical challenges with the political landscape - we dealt with some stuff in the past, but nothing like what they're most likely dealing with!
