This Inmoov is a big project for an armature like me. I have lots to finalize and complete. I will be starting to add scripts in EZB4 to being Inmoov alive in the next few days, maybe weeks. I know this will be the hardest for me as it makes my head hurt most often then none. stress I know I will learn many new things as I progress. And not to fool my self, I will probably have many questions.blush

I just ordered my second EZB4 for all the servos this robot needs.:) In the mean time I will use one of my EZB3 with the EZB4. User-inserted image

@ mcsdaver. it is a woo wee Elvis head which enable me to have eyes up/down, left right,brows move ect. i hope to show case soon. thanks :)

I have the same head and didn't know yours was Elvis. lol I have a working Wow Wee Elvis and one taken apart with servos added. That one is waiting for a female face. Hope to see your robot doing his thing soon. Again, he is looking great.

Hi mscdaver, I have seen and read some of your post. I like the fact you make your robots from scratch/design. I would like to know where to buy your book once you complete writing it. I love your videos. Is the Blue chested robot different then the white robot? Also love the video of your robots signing I their space ship. Wow!

I took a video the other night of my inmoov using my smartphone and it replayed side ways. I was going to post it anyway, but I can not uploaded. :-( I am not sure how to post a video. So for now here is a picture of my completed Inmoov. I plan on shorting the neck in the next couple of days. He can move side to side and turn left and right, I my plan to have him rotate 360 not sure yet.

On a side note, there are lots of information on the web, on how to make a lifecast, then use it to make a silicon face/mask of a women's. I have made 10 lifecasts and no problems. You need 2 other people to help.

@Merne.... Can I ask what you used to fill in the area where the Kinect would have gone?

@Richard R, I reused the "bottomchestV1.stl" and cut the back of the tabs off, you can use screws or glue them together. I turned the "UnderkinectV1.stl" upside down. I also used the "middlechest.stl" without the PIR hole, turned it upside down and screwed it to the upper one. The very bottom I used the "TStomcovrightV2 and left stl" I did have to cut some of it off to fit. I also had to use a file to trim the chest parts a little on the sides to look ok.

The white robots in the video are security robots aboard the ship. The blue robot Dave is the captain of the ship and his friend Jen in red is first officer. One of the small robot at the controls is Nana and she is behind a few upgrades because she likes being small. She is standing in her chair to reach the controls. I will let everyone know when my story is finished. Your robot looks amazing. Looking forward to seeing him in action.

That's pretty nice... How much did you scale the inMoov down? I assume the elbows and shoulders are now using standard size servos? What about the finger servos? What size are they?

Thanks. He's at 60% yes standard servos and the hands are micro hs-55 but they could have more torque, still looking. I just wanted to see it could be done.

Awesome... try towerpro mg90... they have more torque than the HS-55... Better yet the ez robot mini servos should work even better... You might need to check the dimensions as not all micro servos are created equal...

How well do the standard servos work (power wise) in the elbow and shoulders?

the nice thing about it was I could print many parts at once. so far this took me 13 days compared to two and a half months with ez-mo. the only thing it won't have is eye movement.

I never bothered with the eye movement in my inMoov... side to side was alright but up and down didn't work well... I saved the digital ports and just fixed my eyes in place (left one has an ezb camera)...

Eventually I am going to post pics of my inMoov here, just working on his software and mobile base I built for him...

they're slower than the bigger servos but they still work, the elbows do not have the modified pots out of it but the shoulder and the arms do. plus the arms aren't as heavy with the micro servos. thanks I will check out the towerpro to see if I can use them plus I think I need smaller diameter string or fishing line then the 1mn that I'm using. I think the fingers would move easier.

I can't wait to see your unmoved when you get it finished.

yeah I don't think I'm that talented. I would like to get a wheel base for it though.

I seen a picture of your wheelbase it looks great I can't wait to see him moving around.

Thanks Richard, I looked at EZ-robot servos, too big. Plus I made a mistake the servos are sub-micro and need to be (22.8 x 11.6 x 24mm) TowerPro was to big too. I only found is the HS-5055MG but expensive.

Anyway later.

@merne, very nice, can't wait to see the two of them shaking hands. In one your videos your InMoov is turning at the waist, how did you do that? Can you share a little about that?

I am still working on mine, so far I have right arm, torso and head almost completed.

@bhouston, I modified the parts from an item called inmoov rotation server for the body on thingiervse web page under inmoov. I don't have a fancy pole holder but the pipe that's on there has an inch and a half opening so I drilled out the center of the rotation 3d part and stuck in an inch and a half soul inside of it and then fastened it down. I used two pieces of the higharmsidev1 file then mounted on the pole. here is a picture of it, its not pretty but it works I plan on making it a little different soon.

with mini-bro I'm using the The Rotcenter files from the bicep arm to rotate the body of mini-bro. I'm going to see if it works better with my inmoov ez-mo. User-inserted image

@ Aerius, thanks. I got the eyes of an animatronic website a few years back I don't remember what website but if you look for animatronic pages you should find it.

@ mcsdaver, I think that would be a great addition to Dave and your robotam inmoov doesn't move quite as fast as Dave does which I wish it did because Dave when he moves he looks really cool.

If you have Windows Movie Maker, (It comes with Windows) you can rotate the video to right side up and upload the video to YouTube. I am sure everyone wants to see Mo and his new friend moving. After you upload your video to YouTube, you just copy the link and paste it here in a reply window.

Merne, Would you consider sharing your STL files for the smaller hand? Our club is talking about prosthetic's and I'd love to be able to show them this as an option for a kid or at least to get ideas from. I realize Gael is making one a little more suited to prosthetic's but I don't think it's open sourced. My email is in my member info.

@Checksumff merne just reduced the original stl part to 60% and printed them that way... You can do the same too...

@ Checksumff, richard is right I just used my 3d printer software to reduce the stl's to the size that the servos would fit. I don't believe the size of the hand I have would be good for prosthetics as the fingers are not as strong as full size are. you could still play around with the size of the hand if you're using it as a prosthetic to get a better strength. I hope this helps

@Checksumff This site have software to make the STL file for a hand the size you want. Smaller Hand I am thinking about making hands for children in need. Way too busy at the moment, but I will be getting more info.

Wow this is quite impressive! I can imagine this thing riding around on those Airwheel S3 to make movement smoother. Can't wait to see what comes next! keep up the good work :D

It's been too long since I post my project. I have stopped building my innovation for now, however, I plan on building my second inmoov using Arduino to power and control the servos using ARC and EZB v4/2 to control the Arduinos.

I also plan to post my progress with updates, unlike my first inmoov.
