It's really cool!
And just one day after entering in the todo list? It's amazing!
#2
I can think of dozens of uses for this.

Have strategically placed QR codes that set variables so the robot knows what room it is in to improve navigation around the house (even which wall it is facing until I get a compass module).

Secretly give commands by flashing QR codes from my phone or on cards hidden in my hand.

Identify friend vs foe in robo-combat (or security if I can convince my wife to wear a QR code badge - not likely....).

great update!

Thank you, so many things are made easier thanks to this small update. Although now my house will be covered in QR Codes...

1st one to find a good QR code generator:)

Just tried @RichMR2's find thats so easy!

I just printed a couple of QR codes and held them up in front of the EZ-B camera. One says hello and the other opens a web page this is very cool

QR Codes are great, I have them on my business cards so flash it to the camera on my phone and it'll dial my number, bring up a map, go to my website, email me... this opens up so many new great features.

Thanks everyone! Wait until you see tomorrow's update:) ... I've extended the QR Code functionality - including a few other goodies

The man that never sleeps ... mmmm ... who could I be talking about ...:)
#13
I had been wondering about using hand sign language to communicate with a robot but QR codes are amazing. Now anyone can communicate to the robot. While VR is awesome it is quite limited to the environment and is not universal for all speakers. Fabulous DJ!:)
#14
Damn it DJ. I just get rolling with what I can and might do with the robot and you go and add more cool stuff....

I just cant keep up...

Way to go bud, big thanks to all your hard work.

This is indeed a great new piece of functionality, but I think I have found a glitch *eek* - I have printed off a couple of different codes to test and I find that if I show a code it works perfectly the first time I present it, but if I then hide it and re-present the same code again the recognition works (I can see the phrase on-screen), but the associated command does not execute. If I show a different code instead it also works, then the first code can successfully be shown again - is anyone else seeing this please?

Mr crisp, please read the documented notes in the example project.

Got it DJ - thanks *blush* A really great addition with a bunch of applications - I assume this effectlively supercedes the glyph recongition as the way forward?

Glyph is much faster detection and requires less processing. QR Code will not supercede glyph, as they have different applications:)
#19
This is too cool. I am just getting started with EZ robot so I am still feeling my way through. The QR code solves a major problem in allowing the robot to read labels to verify position. I was going to use RFID but this is much easier to implement.

On another note - is there any EZ robot work on navigating waypoint to waypoint using GPS ?

I suspect that's spam, but if not...
we have a qr code generator in ARC already.

Damn, I got excited when I saw a release topic in the recent topics hoping DJ had released early... and end up being disappointed with links to QR code generators which, fyi, can be generated in ARC.
