@Athena Is there a way to turn off the audible Ding in Bing speech recognition when ControlCommand sends Start Recording? This is not desirable for some robots.EDIT: I guess @Athena is taking a break or turned off. No answer from her.
I don't think Athena was coded to respond to release notes. I think this is the only place she doesn't know about. Guess we never thought anyone would ask technical questions in a release note :)
But to answer your question - set the sound to be silent I guess for the time being. I'll add an option to turn it off for the next release

I've updated to this version of ARC now. However when I use my Bing speech recognition with my robot I don't hear a "Ding" sound. It must be set to use the PC speaker only? I don't have a speaker on my robot's SBC. I use the EZB's speaker (actually I have it wired to an amp and speaker system hot wired to the EZB).
So, as it stands now this is a non issue for me. Still I do think it would be a good idea to make it possible to turn off the "Ding" if it ever becomes an issue for myself or anyone with a set up where this sound would ruin the wanted effect of talking to a robot.
I do think it's a good idea of having the ability of an audible signal when the Bing recording starts. It' a needed addition for most. Personally I over came being able to know when the voice recording started by having a light flash and the robot's head raises. This robot being a recreation of a famous TV robot, my solution seem more natural to the robot I built then having him ding every time I talk to him. On the show you don't hear him ding every time Dr. Smith calls him a Bubble Headed Bobby, LOL.
