This project looks like a ton of fun. I have one of these R2s I picked up a long time ago with the intention for digging in and upgrading like you want to do. I'll be watching this thread. Please post back with your progress. Have fun!
Found some full color LED displays to use for R2s logic displays. They are sold on Amazon. LED Matrix Panel Hey Dave, thanks for the welcome!Brilliant Dave. Too bad you didn't have a chance to film or take pictures of how you got this cool little robot, er, I mean "droid", to this point. Their must have been a lot of work bring it to this point.
