Dirgebot V1

Doombot

USA

Hello all It's been a while since I posted, been busy catching up on back orders for IKON so that took up most of my time.

I finished Doombot's skeleton/frame and I took him apart to make molds so I can reproduce the parts in aluminum and carbon fiber and kevlar. Its gonna be one mean deadly machine.

Anyway in the meantime I created Dirgebot, a smaller, less menacing and simpler to program (less moving parts) machine that's somewhat kid-friendly (for me). I wanted something my kid can play with (she wont even go in the room where Doom was parked).

Anyhoo here is the progress. Depending on how this proto goes I may market this model as a complete, not a kit, but something that can be used out of the box with no guesswork. I'm looking for an ARC programmer who can work with me, in exchange for stake in the future company. I recently established Bertone Industries, LLC and I have access to a warehouse and it will be manufactured here in the US using rotocasting techniques. Please contact me if interested here: marcbertone39@gmail.com. Thanks guys!

:D

This still uses the V3 board and a webcam, alongside the W3 Iconia mounted on its chest. I will upgrade soon. Please be nice to us dinosaurs! haha

He stands at 3' 4" currently.

Nearly finished sculpt. I'm gonna make a tutorial for making molds and casting fiberglass panels. This head is gonna be produced in fiberglass, alongside the rest of the robot when the sculpting is done. Hope you all like it.:D

So very impressed by both Doombot and Dirgebots. Killer work on the sculpting and casting. It was well worth the time to read through both threads just to see the various process you went through. Love it all!

WOW, I had forgotten about @Doombot and his dark and very cool robots. 10 years now sense we heard form him. I'd love to know what he's working on now and how his robots finished up or if he did others sense. cool

@DaveSchulpius Hello there! It is funny it has been a decade? A lot has changed but yeah I'm still into robotics and still doing what I'm doing. I got back into music and got signed, going on album #4 now! Ironically I was going to release a video for one of my creations (now gathering dust) and I was putting together some music for it, and it just hit me, I need that in my life again! So yeah the projects went on hold, jeez time flies. So I guess EZ Robot is a different company now?

Doomy! That's a significant update on your band and getting signed! I just got notified that this thread had an update. It's good to see you. The hardware portion of EZ-Robot was acquired, and I maintained the software side under the new company I formed, Synthiam. It lets us focus on the software without hardware distractions and logistic challenges. Think of it as similar to Microsoft (makes Windows) and Dell (makes computers).

That's awesome if you get the robot working for a video. Let us know what we can do to help get the robot up and running again!

@DJSures Holy smiles man! I'm stoked you still remember me!

I have so many questions...a lot of time lost I need to get back. For one is it possible to get my old account back? It's connected to a dead email and I forgot my login. Good news is I'm messing around with CAD now and I have a 3d printer now...been designing a lot of stuff that I'm gonna share soon. Current project is an InMoov like Humanoid Gynoid. Just like InMoov I'd like to share it open source to the public. After seeing the Clone Robotics' torso I JUST HAD TO HAVE ONE. Currently finishing up the left arm. I'll post drawings and plans soon.

Anyway it's great to be back. Such a positive and helpful community! What happened to the old guard, like Rich and Anthony XLRobots?

Sweet-what 3D printer did you get? That robot arm in your picture is exactly what I'd expect from your design style! However, the orange must be a prototype because I think of chrome and steel when I think of your builds.

I'm not sure what happened to RichR. He succeeded at making some cool stuff - so I'm guessing he moved on to new hobbies. As for Anthony, I'm not 100% confident with the details, but he was making robots that cross some copyrights. He might have stepped away from robotics to another hobby, perhaps his restaurant. They're both missed, but I understand when people move on to follow other interests.
