Just thought I would post this just in case some were not aware that Win 10 will be out soon and will be a free upgrade to 8 and 8.1 users... :)Windows 10 to be a free upgrade for some
Great. I hope it is better than 8 or 8.1. I am always trying to turn it back to look like 7.
Will EZ-B be able to work with the new 10 software without a new release?
LOL... There is a new release of ARC pretty much every other day (ok, a little exaggeration)....
I am sure DJ (being a developer and being who he is) has probably already been on top of it for a while now... :D

I heard this a while back. It surprised me as much as them missing out windows 9 did... :D
Its not a surprise, MS made some big changes to the GUI, without really paying attention to the customer, like Steve Jobs and his Cut & Paste Screw-up in IOS.. so now we get an apology free upgrade to something we want... ;)
I have been running Windows 10 since its pre-release and all is good so far. Even decided to install VB6 (I know VB6 is long gone...) and see if it still worked. For the most part, it did but noticed some GUI issues.

That is a huge surprise. I can't get VB6 to install on Windows 7 without using an XP virtual machine (granted, it is a work computer, so it could be a group policy preventing it even though I have local admin rights). I didn't even try on Windows 8.1. I have a couple of old apps that use ActiveX controls I have not been able to convert to newer versions of Visual Studio that I still occasionally need. I may have to see if it will install on my 8.1 machine, and if not, download the tech preview and give it a try.

I have VB6 running on Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10TP. The only reason I still have it loaded, is I have a few customers that wont move from the applications they are running and do not want to invest in upgrading. There are quite a few articles on the internet that discuss running VB6 on current operating systems.

Apparently the free Windows 10 upgrade applies to Windows 7 too (although not Windows 7 Enterprise).
Thanks Keith, I'll research how to get it running. There is an application I need to support for about one more year before it can be replaced.
