In the US, the "grooming" finger from DJ's diagram is called the "Index" finger (and the little finger is also called the Pinky)

@warpig, did you know D.ick Smith only had 4 fingers, he lost his ring finger in the war. Then he had the bone removed in his palm so he could continue to be an artist and not have the stump in the way!
