Strange Question With My Distance Sensors

Hi,

I have a rather strange problem. I have 4 Vl53l0x ToF sensors on my robot, which are connected to an arduino. The arduino is connected to the onboard Asrock J3455B-ITX. I read the sensors with a script in ARC. Everything is working fine, until I put the lid on the robot. Then 2 or 3 sensors immediatly return a value of -1. The lid has no electrical connections. It is just a rectangular piece of pvc hardfoam and some aluminium angle. I have not been able to locate the core of the problem, but I suspect the onboard computer does something weird. I am not sure, but it might have even crashed once, while I was closing the lid. I could not duplicate that yet, though. Could that be some kind of electromagnetic compability problem? Why does it only occur when I put the lid on?

P.S: I do not know, why the autocorrection thought it would be wise to replace the word "problem" with the word "question".
