Sad News.........

I learned yesterday that our beloved fellow robot builder, Josh Starnes, has passed away.

Josh Starnes Tribute

I will always remember Josh for his amazing attitude, big dreams, innovative thinking, and numerous contributions to our community. He was always so friendly, and although we never met in person, I still had a meaningful friendship with him online. He made a significant impact in the field of robotics, and he will be greatly missed.

Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

OMG, How awful and sad. He was only 39....

I send my strength and prayers out to his loved ones and friends. A loss like this makes no sense and I'm sure they are heartbroken over his loss. I've known Josh through this forum since I joined in 2012 and he always was a great help and inspiration to me. He had brilliant insight. Goodby Josh.:(

Oh boy that’s shocking news. I knew he was having some health issues but didn’t know the severity. I hope his family is aware how impactful he was to this community. And specifically how influential and helpful he was to others. I think back to his robots he built with his sister and when he first joined. His dream of creating a robot lawn more product that actually worked, unlike the other stuff out there.

He will be missed!

Sad news indeed!

Always looked forward to see what robot or project Josh would come up with next. He certainly had a creative mind. Will miss him on the forums. My thoughts go to his wife and children.

Gosh this is sad news!  I remember learning a lot from him with the projects he shared here going back to the earliest days.  He even helped me obtain some very tiny voltage regulators back when they were rare to find and those live on in my Wall.e robot.

So sorry to hear this news. He was posting his progress on FB and then his posts were non medical and I assumed he had beat the cancer. So young and influencial here. He will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers to his wife and kids.

Josh always inspired me with his enthusiasm developing his latest robotics project. Every robot showcased his skill and innovation designing and building his robots while sharing every detail with the community, answering our questions and helping others with our builds.  I was shocked and saddened to read this. Josh will be missed.

Thats a nice tribute link to Josh. His family was supportive of his hobby, which was turning into a career. I had been close enough with Josh where he had asked if I would be a reference for his most recent employer. I’ve always had great positive things to say about Josh. It angers me when good people are taken away from us. I can only hope there’s a divine reason taking wonderful people away for us. He will be missed. He is missed.
