Ahhhhhhhhhh! It's like when iOS changed their icon styles.
Not bad, just different.
it's much easier to focus on the project without distraction of the colored icons. Icons are nice and pleasant to compliment titles, but too many colors was causing my brain to spin
I'm really happy with the re-skin... My productivity has increased when using ARC
Ha, ha... @DJ... you remind me of Jeff Goldblum in The Fly... Gena Davis asked him why he has 5 exactly the same suits, same colour same style in his closet... He responded, they are for each day of the week... I don't have to think about colour co-ordinating or what style... I just reach in his closet and grab the appropriate day's suit... That way I can free my mind to focus on my matter transporter and not cloud my mind with trivial decisions and distractions like clothing choices...
LOL oh no - scary... my wardrobe is changing that direction too it seems
I have 5 pair of the exact same pants (REI Adventure pants) and they are all I wear to work (well, I wear shirts and stuff too, but they are the only pants I wear).
Found something that worked, and unlike every other pair of pants I have owned, they don't fade, fray, or otherwise make me replace them earlier than I want. And they have extra "hidden" pockets in the thighs, so I can always have a little extra gear with me (pen, pocket knife, phone, etc...).
Alan
Its nice to wear the same thing. The down side is people think you a.) don't have any more clothes and b.) wear the same cloths without changing. Albert Einstein bought several versions of the same suit. Steve Jobs wore the same style of clothes. Mark Zuckerberg is doing it now too.
James Bond tended to dress the same too.
Really like the new skin!
Thanks everyone! We are proud of it
IM having an issue since updating the software. every time i stop the camera ARC crashes.
Ok i have played more and it seems to happen only after a snapshot is taken.
I would need additional information to diagnose what "crashes" means
Whats up DJ! I've noticed when I go to open the Design control it usually freezes gives a (not responding) warning and closes, then the Design control panel opens. Is any one else having that issue?
Nope... seems to work fine for me on both of my PCs...
Microsoft .net or windows playing havoc with your experience. Usual suggested remedy for Microsoft issues is uninstall app, reboot, reinstall app.
cool ill check that out, just to let you know also I've been having some awesome demos, teacher workshops at conferences, and have a training tomorrow!
Woo! That's excellent news! Means a lot to me - more than you can imagine - to see the impact we, as a community, are having on education.
OK, that all sounds good to me. May I make a suggestion to D.J. ?
Instead of having a daily update, have a monthly update. Put all of your magnificent software improvements together and release them once a month. The improvements would be HUGH and we would not have to go through that whole process over and over and over again except once a month we could update it.
Thanks,
mel
Wait, you want less updates?..
You are free to wait until a specific date each month to upgrade if you wish, you don't need to update in chronological order.
I for one prefer updates to happen as and when. Bug fixes that would take a month to release rather than a day would be a nightmare.
For the school computers I do updates bi-weekly or monthly. There are 6 of them and I update my computer as these come out so that I can view these changes in my "Free" time. For me this works great as I only have access to the school computers weekly and I can see if there are any updates that would be needed for the class on a more frequent basis. In any event, you can view the update notes and only update when you need or want one of the updates.
@MovieMaker, I don't think you actually want fewer updates. You probably just want to do less work when there is an update - right? Did you know that Chrome (the web browser) updates extremely frequently? But you'd never know, because you don't have to do any work to get the update - it's automatic.
IMO frequent updates are by far the best idea, for many, many reasons- DJ's got it right, of course, he's got a lot of experience doing this
