This release is all about keeping ARC-Lite running smoothly - even when your robot's camera gets grumpy, Wi-Fi decides to take a break, or a connection disappears at exactly the wrong moment.

Camera Streaming Is Much More Crash-Proof

We squashed one of the biggest causes of unexpected app crashes! Previously, disconnecting from your robot or switching screens while the camera was streaming could cause ARC-Lite to close instantly.

Now the camera shuts down safely and gracefully, just like it should.

One Bad Video Frame Won't Ruin the Party

Weak or spotty Wi-Fi can occasionally cause your robot to send a corrupted video frame. Previously, one bad frame could stop the camera feed completely until you restarted it.

Not anymore! ARC-Lite now skips the bad frame and keeps the video rolling.

Cameras Now Recover After Reconnecting

Robot wandered off the network? Wi-Fi dropped for a moment?

Previously, reconnecting could sometimes leave you staring into a mysterious black camera screen. The camera will now automatically restart once the robot reconnects.

Added an App-Wide Safety Net

Unexpected errors happen, but they shouldn't make your whole app disappear.

ARC-Lite now catches unexpected errors and keeps running whenever possible. It also quietly records useful information in a log file so we can track down the problem and squash even more bugs in future releases.

Safer Scripts, Buttons & Connections

We fixed several situations where buttons, connection status updates, or scripts running Blockly, JavaScript, or Python could cause a crash when something went wrong at exactly the wrong time.

Those errors are now handled much more safely.

Improved Motion Detection Accuracy

The camera's motion tracking had a sneaky bug that caused it to interpret parts of the image incorrectly.

That's been fixed, and motion detection now works the way it was intended.

General Stability Tune-Up

We've also made a collection of behind-the-scenes improvements to background tasks, memory handling, cleanup, and shutting things down properly.

The result? Fewer freezes, fewer crashes, and a happier robot control experience.
