Hello all, while working this project I only updated the competition site but given I am using EZ Robot it’s roots are here in the community.
Here is the latest update on the custom invisible QR code for discretely marking the inside of your homes furniture, doors, floor, or ceiling with codes that only illuminate when you hit them with the correct nanometer light 405nm or 780nm IR/UV

Quick spray with Matt black so the spacer doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb, I really think this whole guy will be red eventually but I rather have him functioning before worrying about overall looks. The holes for the ultrasonics are a little off so I will likely fill then and redrill at a later time. I should have spent more time on this today , but I slacked off.... Such a slacker.
The ultrasonics where just sitting in the holes which is why they look all wonky.
Aaaaand from the rear
Looks great Josh! Bang up job as always
You don't really notice the ultrasonic holes being off with the black color.
@Jeremie , Thanks, I really appreciate it! I took a couple days off from this bot, but I will go back at it tommorow on my day off.
What’s interesting is that this is a normally lit room , the light shows so bright through the camera the auto brightness adjust kicks in and the rest of the room looks dark
No led on at all , invisible
One 3 watt led , I have found I can undervolt it to 1 watt and it is still 80 percent the brightness. The led is a light purple glow to the human eye , but looks like the scorching sun through the cam.

With no QR code to focus on , the light just looks incredibly bright similar to the same nm laser diode I tested.Moment of TRUTH , daytime QR code reading test. It is almost 11 am here and I am in the great room of the house which has 17 windows. The natural light overpowers indoor lights in here and I was able to get good QR code reading even with this level of light interference. Yes yes ! Pics or it didn’t happen!
Haven't commented on this post yet but rest assured I've been lurking in the shadows, haha. Very nice job, Josh! This is such a cool and original idea, great to see it working in an environment with lots of light. Great looking robot!
Thanks man! I appreciate the feedback, it will be fun to continue expanding this concept. I have soldered up several of these LEDS to use on other robots and such. Hopefully the EZ Robot camera will work well with them too.
