Who'S On Thingiverse?

I know a lot of you guys are quite active in the 3D printing community. Are you on Thingiverse? If so, what's your pseudonym? I'd like to follow you guys.

I just started creating my own designs this year and I'm now ready to start sharing them. Most of the designs are Synthiam Live hack related.

I posted my first design today, it's a G.I. Joe action figure stand. The design is based on the original stand but it's slightly different.

Hey jer, so is that one of the big web sites for 3d printed stuff? What type of printer do you use, I guess you have some expensive ones in the Synthiam office?

@Robo Rad,

Yeah, Thingiverse was created by Makerbot and is likely the largest 3D file sharing website out there. I have a Makerbot Rep 2 at home and that's what we have at the office, you could say that I'm very familiar with that printer in particular:D

I would love to add 3d files to thingiverse for each version of a robot I do, maybe not the latest, but if someone likes a version I designed then they can print it themselves.

Hay Jer.  I know a few Inmoov builders and members who are on Thingiverse, but I will let them reveal themselves.  a large number of members never respond, they read, they just don't like to type .  Jer can you make your action figure base large enough to hold a Invoov Robot, like an action figure. maybe make it in 6 interlocking parts and it would have to be very heavy what with all the kung fu leg movements. is there such a thing as lead impregnated PLA filament, that would work. ;)   Just kidding Jer    I do think you are very creative and I think your Thingiverse site is great.

Jer knows the smell of a makerbot printing PLA, a car drives by and hes like  :: breathes in fresh air:: "that man owns a makerbot, and his print is 83 percent finished. God I love the smell of Makerbot in the morning! "

Lol! @jstarne1 that's actually fairly accurate, from previous years of working with a laser cutter I can also smell burning acrylic from a mile away:D

@nallycat I'm as creative as an engineer can bexD  I like your inMoov stand idea, now you just need to drill a large hole in the left heel of your inMoov to lock it in place:p

@Jeremie   Since I haven't made the legs yet I will definitely be adding a large hole in the left heel.   I have a laser cutter and do a lot of acrylic etching and cutting.  It is not healthy to breath the fumes so I have a very good exhaust system, although the smell does linger. with the 3d printer I print using PET_G and there is no smell at all, it is also food safe.

"COOooooooooBRA!":p

Jer, I love the new foot stand, it actual holds the action figures in a pose instead of letting him in face plant like the original stands!

Thingiverse is  gret site. Iuse it alot myself. Seen some of the EZbits on there. Have printed so many cool things:)

I am almost scared to explore Thingiverse, My mind may become officially Blown...Need ...3d...printer!

Hi jstarne - noticing you are loading your gcode files into Thingiverse. You should be posting the STL's. The gcode is for your particular printer and slicer settings and will not work for other people.

Wow, another new world for me, Thingiverse, 3d printing, and you guys have been doing it for years...

I am very new at this, what is a affordable starting 3d printer (and all the trimmings) you guys use?

Hi Ezang, I would recommend the Creality Ender 3 Pro , there are a couple upgrades that are good but most importantly is it takes about 30 minutes to assemble out of the box and get printing. I was impressed with the quality with no tinkering involved on something so cheap. PLUS there are lots of upgrades for it. For example enderextender.com where you a extend the bed to 400mm x 400mm for 100 bucks and even bigger for 200 bucks.  Ender 3 has a huge community as well for modding and improving prints and settings as welll ( but it prints fine right out of the box)

@ perry, yes I will swap some stuff around. The code upload was accidental. I probably should break up the 14 pieces for the body into individual files for those that do not know how to separate them,. It’s only been up since yesterday, it is a work in progress:)
