When providing an error log, please include what you were doing to cause it. Additionally, the website forum is split into categories for different subjects. You have this posted under "hardware". This is not a hardware issue. It is being moved.

We notice you post almost everything in "HArdware". Please begin posting in appropiate categories:) Thanks

That error looks like it wasnt an image file. Are you sure it was a picture and not an HTML file? I can try and see if I can recreate it:)

#4

Update: Got a photo. The pic shows up when i tell it to only show supported images.

Can you please clarify? What do you mean by supported images? And if you got the pic to show up, why is there an error message?

It does the same for smaller images also (tested 3 smaller jpgs of schematics)

Hey, new to the board here. I am receiving the same error. I couldn't find if this thread had been moved to the ARC thread somewhere... Any word on how to fix this?

BTW, i am trying to add an image to the Virtual Robot control. when i click change image, i select the picture i want to add, this error comes up with both Bitmaps and JPG's... tried multiple images.

See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

I can only assume it's on "the list" if it hasn't been fixed yet.

Reading between the lines somewhat I can only assume there will be a major release for ARC soon, this may have the fix in it. Since we have not received any updates to ARC lately I'm going out on a limb and guessing that minor updates are on hold until the major release is done... but don't quote me on that, it's purely speculation.

I haven't been able to reproduce this error:( ... Even when I used the BMP that you shared on that thread - It works great for me. What OS are you running?

That's odd, I run Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit.

I'll try it on win 7 64 bit and win 8 when I get chance to see what happens.

You know what? It might be a RAM related issue. I know you may have a billion GB of ram - but ram works by Pages in chunks of memory large enough to hold things. Anyway, the image you posted is HUGE. Like, really big.

I would recommend shrinking the image down to a reasonable size, of say 1024x768 or something. Then try Virtual Robot:)

All 3 of my Windows PCs do the same thing. Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit, 4Gb ram (3.25Gb usable), 2.9Ghz dual core. Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bit, 16Gb ram, 3.5Ghz 6 core. Windows 8 Pro 32 Bit, 2Gb ram, 2Ghz dual core.

All using a much smaller image too (tried a few different images too but all with the same result).

It's not a problem to me, the virtual robot takes up too much of my screen real estate but it's odd that it happens on all of my PCs but not for you. The Windows 8 one is pretty much a virgin machine with only the addition of ARC and Chrome. The Windows 7 64 bit is near virgin too, with just work apps (autocad, office, adobe CS) and ARC.

The same thing happens with that image.

I started the Problem Step Recorder in W7 to record it all if that gives any further info, it's attached. problemsteprecorder.zip

LOL, I don't know what to say.. It works flawless on all our machines. I can't think of what it could be.

Either way, that feature has been changed in the next release:) You no longer upload a picture of your robot. You use something else now.
