Recent ARC Update

I just updated the ARC windows software because the message popped out that there was an updated version. Then after it said windows 7 is no longer supported but may still load and should upgrade to windows 10. That is not really an option for me now,Prefer my win 7.Is this going to be a problem for all the cool plug in programs I want to start using? (kinect plug in etc...)

@robo rad Some plugins already do not work with Win 7.... Bing Speech for one... Windows 10 is so much better than Windows 7 in every way.... Eventually you will have to upgrade so now's a good time as any... I would do it just to save yourself headaches down the road... I took advantage of the free upgrade when windows 10 came out.... I did so with all my computers and absolutely glad I did... The free upgrade is unfortunately no longer available now...

You can find more information about Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft's support by visiting the following link provided by Microsoft, the manufacturer of Microsoft Windows: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/13853/windows-lifecycle-fact-sheet

It is impossible for newer features to be supported on deprecated and discontinued operating systems which do not provide the functionality for the feature.

Windows 10 was available for free by Microsoft as an upgrade. EZ-Robot recommends upgrading to Windows 10.

That's easily rectified... IMHO Windows 10 is very similar to Windows 7.... People had issues with Windows 8 due to the removal of the "all familiar" Start menu so it confused the heck out of them...

Ha ha yes That confused me too but saw a tutorial how to get the same old win 7 desktop look back again.

So will ARC always be based off using a microsoft operating system because of .net or will there be more options to what can use in terms of their operating system in the future?

Well 2 out of 3 computers were not a great success upgrading to windows 10 be warned when you upgrade make sure you specify exactly which program files you want win10 to save or you will lose them all with the only way to ever get them back is to use proffesional hard drive recovery software with little chance of success to find everything you lost. For some weird reason on my laptop everything did get saved into win 10.Unfortunately I did lose a valuable photo forever,on the other desktop pc.:( One further note the new version of kodi for win10 is way different than before it took me an hour how to get the movie plugins working again. While the upgrade does let you have 30 days to go back to win7 ,when I tried that all my valuable pictures and programs were still lost in win7.
