Good Morning.
I received my Ezb-v4 Controller yesterday. I have a question in regards to power. Can I power the ezb with a 5vDC supply at one amp?
(I am not going to use any servos.)
Thanks WayneA.
Yes, but with only 1amp... you won't be able to do much except power the ezb and maybe the camera. ... you certainly won't be able to drive any servos.... you will also have to disable the low battery warning as it will constantly complain it's battery is low. ..
To append Richard's response, here is are ezb v4 specific introduction activities: https://synthiam.com/Tutorials/Course/5
Also in that list is the datasheet. The datasheet explains power consumption and more. It's a mandatory read.
Sounds like you may be wanting to use one of those plug in wall worts. Not a good idea. If you want a plug in power converter, you can find good ones on Amazon or ebay. Do a search for ac to dc converter. To find the one you want, match your ac supply input voltage (house voltage ) then chose the supply dc voltage you want. It's important to get one that can supply enough amperage (current ) to all the devices you will be running from it. Find the specs for each device or motor (servo ), add up all the max amps they will all draw. Then choose a power supply that will supply about 20% more amps than you need. The same principal applies to a dc to dc power converters.
Hope this helps.
Thank You all above for the assistance. I will need to research this further.
If you're not using any servos, the plugin wall wart is fine
I use them all day with only solid state peripherals connected to the ezb.
Thanks for the clarification DJ. I guess I have never used the ezb light duty. I have a habit of over building also.
