Ez-B Power

Hi! I finally got around to opening up the EZ Robot kit and start building a robot. The tutorial tells me that when I connect the batteries to the EZ-B there should be two blinking lights but mine does not light up at all. I am sure that the batteries are brand new and that the wires are connected properly. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be or possible solutions? Thanks!

Have you got a volt meter

I actually had the same problem last night. I finally got it on my 4th try. My problem was that I was placing the wires too deep into the adapter. Volt meter would have definately helped. ;)

That and sometimes the barrel jack connections need a bit of a wiggle.

Volt meter to test the barrel jack, make sure that is working. If you don't have a volt meter you can easily rig up a small bulb to check the power (just don't go using a 3v bulb if it's a 9v supply or anything silly like that).

It looks like there is 3V across the batteries. Could that be the problem? I read somewhere that it takes minimum 5V to power the EZ-B.

I would check your fuse. It is a very standard automobile fuse.

3V is not good enough to run the EZB. Try another power supply or fresh batteries. Fresh batteries should report a voltage of a lot higher than 3V.

EZB requires a supply voltage of 5-17v

Yup . A lead acid 6 volt ub645 is cheap , rechargeable and plenty of juice.

Finally got it working. I had someone else try to connect the wires to the adapter and it worked on their first try...
